Inside Story of Squad Selection 

 sports journalist Qadir Khawaja, the selection committee finalized the squad and sent it to head coach Mike Hesson, but he made changes in it and dropped three players from the squad and added players of his choice.

The players who were dropped despite good performances are:

1. Abbas Afridi

2. Haider Ali

3. Sufyan Muqeem

Head coach Mike Hesson replaced them with Faheem Ashraf, Hussain Talat, and Naseem Shah.

The selection committee had originally planned to rest Naseem Shah and Shaheen Shah Afridi.
